Facebook: A key to expanding your business
By Michail Dimitriou*
If your business does not have a facebook page, you are missing out on great opportunities; opportunities to get the word out about your business to millions of people on a daily basis. Today's technology saturated world not only likes facebook pages, but they expect them for your business. When your business doesn't show up on facebook, they move right on to the next business. Without a facebook page, you limit yourself to just one method of entry from a google search. Setting up a facebook page is a free and easy process and takes only a minimal amount of time; time that will be well worth the effort in the long run.
The first step to setting up your facebook business page is simply to create your page. Follow the link www.facebook.com/pages/create.php, and you will find yourself with the directions to create your page. You simply select your category of business, enter your address, and you're finished. That's all it takes to get started.
Next you simply enter all the information about your business. You can include your contact information, what your purpose is, your company website, pictures or videos, recommendations that you have, and any other pertinent information. Once you have created your business page, you can click on the badge button which will allow you to put a facebook like button right on your website.
Now choose a cover picture. Choose something eye catching that reflects your business. You want to keep this same picture so that people quickly connect it with your business name as they scan their posts.
The next part of your job is to keep your facebook page updated with exciting and intriguing posts. The best times to place your posts when most people will see them is Sunday and Tuesday through Thursday evenings before 10 or Tuesday through Thursday mornings before 8:00. Think through what you want your face book page to accomplish for you, and let your posts reflect that function.
The key part of updating your website is to make it personable. People don't want to read a bunch of long information articles. They want fun, exciting posts that draw them in. Pictures, videos, and conversations all work to engage your customer. Listen to their comments and respond; let them know you are there for them.
You have to look at facebook as the new word-of-mouth advertising. When one person likes your page, all their friends see that like and have just been exposed to your business. The more likes you receive, the more your page is spread, and the more people check out your business. This in turn brings in more business and therefore more money. This free method of advertising is just sitting at your fingertips waiting to provide you with exciting opportunities to grow your business today.
