The SEO tactics are a constant experimentation that needs to be dealt with patience. It is a time consuming process, as none of these tactics have visible immediate results. We change something on the code and the results may be seen days or even weeks after. Each SEO action may aim to link a web page to a specific search term, or aim to the general optimization of the web page (for instance, ameliorate the upload speed). We should be organized in order to evaluate the impact of each action on the results or on the frequency of visits of a web page.

Actions record

The actions logging helps identify the impact of a particular action and leads to the assessment of a specific result. When we make various actions and note these movements on a calendar, we can know that a change on the rank positions or on the organic frequency of visits is due to that action. Same as with Google updates, when we notice them and find changes to the ranking, we can know what is the impact of this update on the Google algorithm.

Tracking results

In order to have a complete picture of the impact of the actions made on a website, it is essential to create a calendar record of the major changes in rankings and fluctuations in organic frequency of visits. This must be logged in the same calendar where actions are also logged so that the energy-effect pairs can be combined and identified when multiple changes or updates are found to the Google algorithm (Google updates).

Practical guidelines

Personally, I make my recordings in offline calendars, on regular paper with different pen colors to differentiate the severity of each record. Initially, I make the recordings in the classic calendar, as in the picture below.





Then to get a more complete picture and see the time flow I print a timetable, which I made to excel, and note the recordings there. This is the most important calendar because I see and record overall movements, changes, fluctuations of a website over a month in chronological order, as shown in the picture below.





The reason why I do not use a computer system for calendar is how deeply a traditional man I am. I can also carry my pages everywhere and work in a more enjoyable environment (for example, in a strip club), but I do not risk losing the notes in case of generalized electromagnetic warfare. However, the main reason is that I can see and switch different charts on the computer screen while seeing my documents and getting a full picture.
